A Welcome Letter From The Club[06.11.2011]
Golden Arrow Archery Club has been in existence since 1977 and has seen the sport of archery grow in popularity. The Club continues to promote the sport whenever possible through hunter education, tournament events, and sports shows. The Club also maintains an outdoor range that is handicap accessible and open to the public all through the year.
In the past we have hosted such events as the NFAA Indoor Nationals, Cabelas Regional Tournaments, and the 2000 Cabelas World Championship. We continue to host events such as the Annual Holiday Tournament (now held in conjunction with the River City Hunting & Fishing Expo sponsored by the Pottawattamie County Chapter of Pheasants Forever), IBO World Qualififiers, the Annual Canfifields Sporting Goods 3-D Tournament and the TNUSA Benefit 3-D's for "Kamp for Kids". We also work with and support locally owned archery pro shops and other area businesses. Our members pride themselves in not only being organizers and participants in such events, but also educators to the public and most importantly to the youth of our community. We want to help ensure that archery and hunting sports will always have a place in our society.
Our club has been through many phases over the years, and through both growth and the demand for facilities, we now support one of the finest outdoor ranges in the area along with one of the finest indoor facilities. As mentioned earlier our outdoor range serves as both a public range for the local area and Golden Arrows competitive range for 3-D's and other club events. The range was constructed in 1995, and continues to be maintained by the club in cooperation with the Omaha Parks and Recreation Department, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Our indoor range opened in January 2000, and has truly become the home of Golden Arrow Archery Club. After many years of searching for just the right facility to serve our needs we finally located an abandoned building on an old military installation at the outskirts of Omaha. Through donations of money, material, and thousands of hours of labor by club members, we were able to transform a building no longer in service into a club facility that supports a 14 lane range, club meeting hall, and a pro shop.
Our members are proud of their accomplishments, and look forward to continued growth and new challenges. We enjoy sharing our experiences with others in the community, and look forward to meeting new friends at future club events and tournaments. Our event and tournament schedule and contact information can be found on this web site.
Thank you, and good shooting!
